PRESS: Russian Railways to elaborate cargo tariffs for 2021

MOSCOW, Oct 29 (PRIME) -- First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov has returned Russian Railways’ 2021 cargo tariffs proposals for elaboration, Kommersant business daily reported on Thursday citing several sources.

In materials, earlier sent to Belousov, the company suggested increasing empty car mileage tariffs by 15.8% instead of 4% and decreasing tariffs for loaded car mileage by 0.1% as an alternative to an overall increase by 3.7%.

“The sources said that First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov has not accepted proposals of Russian Railways concerning a deficit of financing of its investment program. The monopoly company planned to cover it by serious adjustments to its tariffs. According to information from three sources, Belousov returned the proposals for elaboration,” Kommersant said.

On Thursday, Belousov will discuss Russian Railways’ financial plan and investment program with relevant ministries, the Federal Tax Service, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the company’s representatives. Later, the tariff initiatives will be considered by the government’s transport commission.
